I would like to begin my message by saying thank you to all the devs and contributors.
Having researched for days I must say OBS appears to be invaluable. So thank you all.
Now what we aim to achieve is a multi camera broadcast from an amateur studio.
Think of a school broadcast. No need for super high quality HD or 60fps footage.
The budget is limited. I would just like to understand what's required for this.
1. If we were to use an HDMI camera to record, we would need one capture card per input so 2 cards for 2 cameras.
2. But if we are not too bothered with quality, we can use higher-end webcams without capture cards
Is this about right?
We want to set up a dedicated pc to manage the broadcast.
What kind of a cpu and gpu at a minimum level would be needed?
I am guessing OBS converts the footage to x264 before the upload which would need a higher end i5 or i7?
But what about GPU?
Honestly I've been reading a lot but couldn't figure these things out.
I appreciate your help in advance.
Thanks!
