Howdee,
Without uploading log files, does anyone know why OBS 28.0.0 Beta 1 gives me a constantly smooth preview, yet whenever I try updating OBS (and without changing any settings), the preview frame rate will drop to half after a few minutes?
I have very recently upgraded from an RX 580 to an RTX 3060, and I was excited to be able to update OBS and see what features I've been missing out on, yet to my horror, the two cameras I have (as 2 video capture devices) dropped from 50 to something that looked like 25 fps, just as it's always done with anything later than 28.0 Beta 1.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I do not game and stream, I just want OBS to record two cameras with various filters and effects.
Am I missing out on any features that aren't related to gaming and streaming?
What I will say is, that the new card was able to record decent video without any frame drops, and I think that also applies to the latest OBS.
I thought it was maybe something to do with vertical sync, but maybe not.
What am I doing wrong?
If I personally won't benefit from an updated OBS, then I guess I don't need to worry about it.
Please surprise me with a winning reply.
Cheers.
