Question / Help What external capture card to get?

im confused on the audio part. Should there be audio coming through the hdmi or no since its connected to the graphics card and the capture card?

Or do I have to use a 3.5mm jack? If i do would i connect it from my pc to the capture card aux in or straight to the laptop jack

okay I got the audio figured out too.. had to unistall the LGX software and drivers and then reinstalled just the drivers and now obs works with video and sound.

Im also using 2 mics one thats plugged to the streaming pc and the other to my gaming pc, my question is when on skype the sound goes over to the streaming pc so the game sound and skype sound gets transferred over which im cool with but now that i thought about it wont my voice be doubled?

Since my voice will be captured on the streaming pc mic and on the gaming pc mic which sends the game sound and skype sound out too.

have not tested this yet as I dont have anyone on skype atm but thinking about it i might have that problem, how can i get around that so the gaming pc mic does not get send over to the streaming pc? Since the streaming pc has its own mic i use.

If somehow your gaming pc sends your mic's audio to streaming pc, then maybe turn off your streaming pc's mic.
I disabled the preview on the gaming pc is that what you mean by encode while previewing? Because when i disable the preview on the gaming pc it still projects it over to the laptop so I will just have it disabled but is that the same thing as the encoding?
Disabling encoding while encoding previewing on gaming PC will free up CPU, generate less heat, and fans might get quieter. This may free up some CPU on gaming PC, although may not have any effect on streaming PC.

"Encode while previewing" effects CPU usage of only preview. Encoder will always be used when recording or streaming. Preview without encoding will make OBS display 0 kbps at bottom corner as being one thing different.
