Question / Help What audio format does OBS record in?

Hi, what format does OBS record audio in? Mp3/AAC equivalent?

Is it it possible to record audio in an uncompressed lossless format like WAV? I'm recording musical performance so would like max audio quality possible. I might be missing something but I only see bitrate setting and I have that at 320.

AAC.

via ffmpeg output you could use WAV, but there OBS currently does support only one audiotrack.
I highly wish WAV possibility for the normal output mode too. And I really wonder why this still isnt possible..

If by one audiotrack, you mean 1 stereo audiotrack, then that's all I need. Any advice on how to set up ffmpeg?

switch output mode to advanced and choose mode to ffmpeg instead normal and set your wished video codec and audio codec there.

Maybe even multitrack is supported there too now, I saw now an audiotrack number selector there too. Cool.

Use the lossless profile in simple output mode.

Multi-track audio has been in advanced mode for a long time now.
