Question / Help Webcam uses 10-20% of my CPU

i have games that are really demanding on my CPU so i need all the performance that i can get for the juicy frames. when i disable webcam the cpu usage is around 1-3% but with it on its about 15%. I have a fx-8150, webcam c920.

do you know what i can do to lower the cpu usage?
 
If you're using MJPEG as a video format you can use XRGB or i420. The latter one gives me the lowest cpu usage around 1-2%. With MJPEG I'm around 7-8%.
 
things that lower the CPU impact of you webcam:
- frame rate
- resolution
- filters

Maybe try 640x480 30fps for the webcam.
