Question / Help Webcam on top of Game Capture?

Hello,

I've set up OBS v0.466a, and am exceptionally pleased with its high quality output and its ease of use. I've been test streaming Battlefield 3 online with very few hiccups after optimizing the program for my computer.

There is just one thing that I can't seem to do. That is trying to have a webcam overlay on top of my Game Capture stream.

I've already tried some things such as moving my webcam source on top of my BF3 game source, but to no avail.

If you guys could help me with this, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks!

*Both the BF3 source and Webcam source are set to Global Source. Webcam is a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000.

right click the source and use "move up" or "move down", the game capture screen is probably being drawn over the webcam image

It didn't seem to work. Before doing this, I already had the webcam on top of the BF3 source.

Note that the listing in OBS is reversed from what you may be used to. Things lower on the sources list are rendered on top of things listed above them.

It was originally just a slight design mistake, but it's kind of become a part of OBS now haha
Is it possible to change, though? In pretty much every other program ever, things higher on the list are on top :/

It's fine if it's low priority, but I'm just saying that it would make it easier to use and less confusing for new users. I'd consider this a "paper-cut" (albeit a relatively large one).

This should be changed ASAP, the longer it stays as it is the more people will be pissed off when it does change. It should be changed before OBS gains a lot more traction, which it's starting to get with a few professional streamers using it already.

I don't think that's a huge issue. As long as, when the update comes, scene layers are maintained (that is, things that appear on top stay on top in the preview window). I think most people who know what they are doing recognize that it's upside down, but are able to deal with it alright. Personally, I'm more concerned for the new streamers who are confused by the nonstandard system.

Yeah, it probably won't be a huge issue. It's just one of those things that is better done sooner rather than later.
