Question / Help Webcam not working no matter what I do.

My webcam is working for sure, because the on-light on it is on. But I cannot see it on my scene. I have tried customizing the resolution as opposed to having it set to "Device Default", and vice versa. I have also tried moving its order up-down to see if that did anything even though i didn't expect it to, and as I thought, it did nothing.

This is getting very frustrating and I would like some help with fixing it asap. Thank you!

Run your webcam software and validate that it is working first to make 100% sure
For example, if it is a Logitech, download and run the Logitech Gaming Software and test to make sure it is working
If you can't get the webcam to work with the vendors software, this is not a OBS Studio problem

To test with OBS Studio....

Create a Scene called Test
Add a video capture source device and name it Webcam
Right click on the webcam and make sure the device drop down is set correctly and that the button below it says Deactivate
You should see a box surrounded by red handles in the preview window, grab them and make them bigger
If you don't see them, click the Configure Video button and set parameters accordingly
Make sure that the webcam is not hidden. If there is a slash cutting through the eye icon, it is hidden. Click on the eye to make it show.
In general, the webcam should always be at the top of the scene list
