Question / Help Webcam issue with OBS

Ive streamed before and the game and webcam worked fine. now the webcam shows as a source and OBS can detect it,but when i select it and try to edit it, it just appears black with the red lines around it. anybody else have this problem?

Make sure it's not behind another source on the 'sources' stack list, and that the tickbox next to it is checked.

Thanks,but i found a resolve for the issue. if i plug the cap card and webcam in the same USB area it doesnt work. but if i plug the wbcam in the back USB and the cap card in the front,it works. odd.

Oh that can easily be explained. Your PC normally has more than one internal USB Hub, each of them has a few USB ports. Now if you connect both devices to the back of your PC, it is probably using one single Hub and might run into a limit of the USB port. For example transmission speed.
So if you connect one to the front and one to the back, you probably use two different Hubs. One doing the connections on the back of your mainboard, and the other for the front connections.
