I usually use OBS to record my YouTube content, and I thought for starting out my gf could do the same using my Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam. We hooked it up to her computer and installed OBS Studio, but discovered that the base resolution of the cam did not have the correct aspect ratio, so we manually set it to 1920x1080, which is also the size of the canvas (we checked), and the size of her monitor (also checked that). However, there were black bars to the left and right of the webcam feed when matched to the canvas size as best was possible, because a complete match is impossible. We tried this with her PC and her Laptop, and both did not work (both also just stopped receiving new frames from the webcam eventually).
I use this exact same setup to record at 1920x1080 on my desktop all the time, so I have no idea what it could be that we both run differently.
