Question / Help Webcam & Capture Card Desynch Issues w/ AverMedia LG HD

Hello, hopefully I came to the right place, this is my first post. Just started using OBS, and experienced a desynch with my gameplay audio and the gameplay video. The audio falls behind the gameplay, and the delay gets bigger. Not sure if I am doing something wrong in the OBS settings or what.

Figured I'd also say that the audio is delayed on my desktop as well, and that is what is going on the stream. Not sure if that has to do with it.

If anyone has suggestions, that'd be great!!

Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry guys, here is my most recent log file

UPDATE: I Have fixed the problem stated above, and now have a similar problem. The AverMedia gameplay video and audio stay synced, but fall behind the webcam audio. Not quite sure how this happened, but it is happening now. I have posted a new log file.

Re: Audio Sync Issues [AverMedia Live Gamer HD]

That log file is incomplete.

What device are you capturing with the Live Gamer HD?

I'm sorry. Are you asking if I am capturing with the Live Gamer HD, or if there are other devices I am using along with the LG HD?

Yes, I am capturing with the LG HD, and I am also using a Logitech Camera.

What is sending video to the LGHD? A console? A PC? Describe your setup in more detail.

Xbox 360. When I first start my stream, the audio is perfectly synced. As the stream continues, the game audio begins to delay, while my webcam, microphone and the LG HD video stay synced.

You could try "output to desktop" if you're not using your PC for sound -- otherwise, try "use buffering". There really shouldn't be any problem with this device though because I have this device myself so I'm rather baffled.

Yeah, I heard that, I was talking with CS from AverMedia, and they said you used it. I'm confused. It wouldn't have to do with putting a stream delay on right?

It is already playing through my desktop. I click "Use Buffering" and it asked for a milisecond value. What should I set that to?

So now the AverMedia is synced together with audio and video, but now they fall behind from the webcam, just like the audio did before :(

I tried the "Use Buffering" on the webcam to see if that would sync them together, but it did not work. This wouldn't be a computer issue would it?

Sorry guys, just wondering if Jim or anyone else has ideas. Also, can I get a Donate link for the OBS project? I couldn't find it, maybe I overlooked it not sure.

Hm, okay, if the avermedia is behind the webcam, then you just need to turn on "use buffering" on the avermedia and keep increasing the number until it matches up with the webcam. Or if the webcam comes before the avermedia, you need to turn on "use buffering" for the webcam and keep increasing the number until it matches up with the avermedia. I'm positive at this point you'll be able to solve this problem just by using that on one of the devices to match them up with each other. Slight bit of a pain but it should work.

Donate button is just below "Help" on this webpage. The green icon. Probably not as visible as it could be I suppose, but I suppose I don't mind that all that much.

:) Okay thanks for all the help so far Jim. The webcam and AverMedia become unsynched the longer I stream. At the beginning of the stream, every time I start, it's perfect, and it slowly seperates. Not quite sure why.

Sorry to spam, but I'm by no means a savant in this topic, but does it have something to do with the AverMedia driver? The AverMedia is starting synced with the webcam as I start the stream. Slowly it falls more and more behind from the webcam. :( I believe the same thing is happening in XSplit, but I am just so frustrated, and I'm almost positive that it's not on the OBS end, but the AM end. I just feel you folks with your expertise could find a solution for me. Thanks guys.

EDIT: Jim, I saw you were going to buy the AverMedia portable device, just wondering about that, not rush. The problem other people have been experiencing and I used to experience (audio & video drifting from eachother) I believe I have fixed. Not quite sure how, but I fiddled with the settings for a bit and I synced them up and they no longer drift. However, I am still experiencing the problem I stated above.

The live gamer portable is sort of a separate issue due to the stream engine, but your problem appears to be with the HD isn't it? The internal device, and I actually already have that device, and I've never really experienced a problem with it. I don't know if it's the avermedia's fault though. I don't think it is at all honestly. I think one of the problems is resolution changes -- the resolution resets and timing data resets and can cause a weird sort of discontinuity with the data that can lead to desyncs in my own code, I'm trying to investigate but haven't really found conclusive evidence as to what's going on yet. It's an annoying situation to deal with, but I just need to sit down and do more tests.

Okay no worries, I can do the uncheck, check method for now which seems to resync temporarily, so no rush. Any suggestions of things I could try and do on my own? Thanks so much for the help so far Jim, I really appreciate it.
