Sorry for the weird question, this only just started happening a few weeks ago (as far as I can tell). I do have my camera set on maybe two scenes..but not on the others. No matter what I start in or even if I remove it from entirely from all scenes it always turns on with OBS. I'm trying to limit my CPU usage during recordings and think it is causing some problems to always be running. I'd rather not have to unplug it all the time.
Question / Help Webcam always comes on when starting OBS

It may be that the microphone of your webcam is still referenced in Settings->Audio, so the webcam is activated, because its microphone is activated, because OBS activates all devices referenced in its configuration at start. If it's not explicitly visible in Settings->Audio, it might be that the webcam mic is the "default" device, so setting it to disabled here is a solution or changing the default device in Windows from the webcam to some other mic.
Thank you, that might have been it. I wasn't having any luck adjusting the settings..it all was set to my microphone like it should've been. But I removed the scenes that had the camera on them, they had another audio bar other than my mic that did seem to be picking up sound (guessing the camera); once I removed them completely it stopped automaticaly turning it on for everything. I'll fiddle with it adding camera again if I need to later (i'm mostly just game play recording so not too worried right now). Thank you so much!
