Question / Help Warning !! Taking too long to encode skipping frames

This used to work fine on my laptop before now i can't seem to get my settings right in order to stream can anyone help me out with this?

Did you actually go to the link and read the information there? Doing so would have answered your question. Knowing the settings you're using in OBS and getting the diagnostic information from the log helps us understand what's going wrong, so that we can in turn help you. If you want help, post your log.

This would work much better if you would read the instructions and follow them. You have a few different options.

- Take the contents of the log file and copy them to pastebin.com, then link the pastebin URL here
- Take the contents of the log and copy them to the forum. Using code or spoiler tags would be nice
- Attach the log file to a new post

Things that will not work: What you just attempted to do twice, which is link a file directly from your hard drive. Stop it. Seriously. You don't have to guess. There are instructions. Follow them. Please.

Excuse me sir i'm not guessing i followed the little guide or whatever and i apparently failed but i honestly don't need this condescending attitude from you sir. I clearly never had to post my files on a site before so this is completly foreign to me so if you have a problem you could leave this topic.

The version of OBS you're using is outdated, and the settings you've configured are far more than what your laptop can handle.

- Get the latest version of OBS from http://obsproject.com/download
- Settings > Encoding - Lower your audio bitrate. Twitch doesn't support higher than 160 Kbps, and more than 128 Kbps is generally excessive.
- Settings > Video - Lower your frame rate to 30. If performance is still poor, lower the frame rate further.
- Settings > Video - Downscale your resolution to something in the 2.00 to 2.50 range. Both your CPU and GPU are going to struggle with anything at higher resolutions. If performance is still poor, downscale the resolution further.
- If you continue to get an error about skipping frames, go to Settings > Advanced and change the preset to superfast. If that doesn't work, try ultrafast.
