Question / Help WARNING: Taking too long to encode. Freezing every now and again

Whenever I stream every now and again it goes slow and then freezes for a bit. It also comes up with the message ' WARNING: Taking too long to encode Skipping Frame! ' I have used the analyzer and changed the settings as it said to, but it's got to the point where I have no idea what the settings mean or what exactly they are doing. They haven't fixed the problem and it is annoying me.

It's a two-physical-core system, and you're trying to do 720p, so it may indeed have this issue occur. You may have to just downscale more until the problem stops.

I've had this system for 2 years now and I've never had problems with encoding on OBS until about a month ago. I have no idea why the problems have started occurring. I also tried down scaling it to 420p and the problem is still happening. Any other ideas?

Unfortunately not entirely sure. If that's not it, then perhaps something else on the system is eating up more of the CPU? I'm not entirely sure unfortunately.

Could it be anything to do with the connection to the internet? My brother has a similar sort of system and is having the same sort of problems. Unfortunately I won't be able to receive a log until he is home. (We use the same wireless internet connection)

The taking too long to encode message indicates hardware problems on the local PC and has nothing to do with internet connection.
