Hi, I need your help to fix this problem and i have been trying for hours actually. I checked all over the Internet and it seems OBS is just stuck in this situation. I have Windows 8 and I am using OBS to game capture Minecraft. My processor is AMD A8-4500M APU With Radeon HD Graphics 1.90 GHz. My system is 64 bit, Thank you very much For any help provided.

Btw, this is not for streaming.

looks to my that you need to downscale from 768p. Your cpu might not have enough power. I tried to check if your apu supports VCE but i dont think it does. That would have helped.

Set your encoding profile to main not high. Set your keyframes to 2. Are you streaming or recording local?

Your setup is very low spec even for recording with OBS but I say it's still possible. It just won't be very efficient at recording given your current setup. But anyways, here's some settings I'd probably change and play around with.

  • Settings > Video
    • Change Resolution > Custom: 1280 x 720.
    • Change Resolution Downscale to 1.5 (852x480)
    • Leave Filter at Bilinear.
    • Leave FPS at 30 (If you're still getting high encoding CPU usage, try 25).
  • Settings > Audio
    • Change Codec to MP3.
      • It's less demanding than AAC but you might have issues opening the recording in video editors like Sony Vegas especially if you have 'CFR' uncheck'd in the Advanced tab.
  • Settings > Advanced
    • Video > x264 CPU Preset > Change "veryfast" to "superfast".
    • Change Encoding Profile to "Main".
    • Change Keyframe Interval to 2.
I don't record much with OBS so your settings in the logs look okay to me. Try these settings above and let us know about the results.

The thing is I used to make videos before with the same computer (It<s a laptop), but I had to reset it and I lost all my settings. It used to work perfectly fine

I used your suggestions and I managed to add a little of mine. Everything is fine and it works perfectly, but I would like to find a way to increase the quality of my image. But really, thanks for everything.
Ill put the latest log if you need it.

crank up the bit rate. Try using 10000 bitrate and buffer. Right now you are set to 1000 which is low even for streaming.

also, set your key frames to 2 instead of auto. Key frames will force a refresh ofa full quality frame. By default (auto) its every 250 frames. Meaning every 5 seconds. Setting it to 2 will set it to every 2 seconds or 60 frames so more often

your previous log had 480p. You raised it to 616p.
turn off CBR for local recording only. Downscale to 512p it should still look decent. If still issues with high CPU, bring it back down to 480p

Now the screens is flasking black...
sounds like another issue. Did you change anything else? Revert the changes and get back to where you were the other day. Use the log to get back to the settings you had. Test, then raise bit rate to 10000. Test then change keyframes to 2. Test again.

could using 32 bit instead of 64 bit make a difference?
you could try. I dont think it will make a difference, but give it a shot. I would upgrade your ram first. Only 1 gb. is your OS 64bit? theres really no reason to upgrade to 64bit with only 1GB of RAM. anything below 4GB will work fine with 32bit OS
