I'm trying to stream at 720p 60fps and I have a pretty decent computer. When ever I stream, I get lag spikes and I get the High CPU Encoding message.

Specs:
i5 4690k overclocked at 4.0GHz (the OC is stable so thats not the problem)
16gb Kingston HyperX White
Strix GTX 960
250gb Samsung Evo SSD
1tb Western Digital Blue HDD

OBS Settings:

Encoder: x264
Use CBR (Checked)
Enable CBR padding (Checked)
Max Bitrate: 2300
Buffer Size: 2500

Audio Codec: AAC
Bitrate: 112
Format: 48KHz
Channel: Stereo

Broadcast Settings:
I have it set up normally for Twitch the only thing worth noting is that I have it set to record the stream
to a file on my desktop.

Video Adapter: GTX 960
Custom Resolution: 1080p
Downscaled to 720p
Filter: Bilinear
FPS: 60

Audio: Just setup normally nothing that could be a cause

Advanced:
Use Multithreaded Optimizations
x264 CPU Preset: very fast
Encoding Profile: Main
Keyframe Interval: 2
Use CFR (Checked)

All suggestions are appreciated

Next time just post a logfile.

make sure buffer and bitrate match. I dont know why people think this somehow makes anything better.
