Question / Help Warcraft slowed...permanently

So I installed OBS 0.613 Beta. I followed all the recommended settings for my CPU and internet connection. I run OBS and the game concurrently. Everything is fine and running at about 50% CPU for about 10 minutes then BAM!, CPU usage shoots to 100% and my WoW slows down to 10-15 fps from about 60-70. I stop running OBS and then run WoW, it still runs at about 10-15 fps. I uninstall OBS and it still runs at about 10-15 fps. I'm not 100% sure but i think my whole system is running kind of funky. There tend to be huge CPU usage spikes at random times when nothing is really going on. Just running IE uses 40% of my CPU processing. (This just seems really high to me but I have never checked the numbers til today) The only thing I could think of was a system restore to a point before I installed OBS. I also reset WoW defaults and ran a WoW repair tool. Still nothing. What's going on? Help me PLEASE!!

BTW...this was all done on OBS preview mode only. I never attempted to stream it.

Also...I didn't not run a run a log on OBS before all this unfortunately. =(

It sounds like your CPU is throttling its speed due to overheating. Put your system under load and check your temps.

I thought it might be an overheating issue so I left my computer in hibernate mode overnight. I was thinking that would fix the issue if it was overheating. I will try the load test (never done it before, but ill figure it out) and check in again. Thanks.

It could also be malware or anti-virus kicking in. When it happens, open task manager, switch to the Processes tab, and sort by "CPU" to find out which process is hogging everything.

I'm not sure how leaving your computer in hibernate mode would have any effect on CPU temperatures. Run a program like HWMonitor while you stream to see if your system temperatures get too high and your CPU throttles itself as a result.
