Question / Help Voice chat through headphones but still included on stream

Hi, I play all of my voice chat programs (mumble, vent, skype, teamspeak etc) through my headset because when I play it's the most important thing for me to hear and it allows me to play music and still not miss anything important.

When I stream though, only my voice can be heard and not the person I am talking to. Is there any way that I can keep voice chat coming through my headset but still include it on the stream along with music and games sounds if I want to, whilst keeping everything else coming through my speakers?

I do not have a dedicated sound card or any external mixers at all if that has any effect on whether or not this can be achieved.

You can either change OBS to use your Headset as your Desktop Audio device, or use a program like VAC to forward both audio sources to a virtual cable and capture that with OBS.

VAC was a great option, found a tutorial online followed it and got everything exactly what I wanted, right up to the point where some anyone woman kept repeating "trial" in my ear. Tried to download a cracked version, cos i'll be damned if I am paying £23 for it and it wont work.

Are there any free alternatives?

Unfortunately, no. But VAC is definitely worth the money IMO.

Hey, I hope you don't mind me jumping in, but I have a question about this. If I wanna record video of some friends and I playing a multiplayer games, and we're all talking through Skype while playing the game, would setting the headset to the desktop audio device capture both game audio and the skype conversation as well? I'm new to this, but this looks something like the solution I was thinking of. If not, do I need that VAC discussed above?

Thanks!

If you set your headset as the Desktop Audio Device then it will capture the audio you hear through your headset. Audio coming out of your speakers will not be captured.

Ah, so if I hear Skype through the headset, OBS will also pick it up. Awesome, thank you so much. That's even simpler than I thought it would be. :)
