VLC won't play DVD from OBS

Newbie to OBS, search didn't have anything I could find.

I can play other DVD's on VLC, but not the one I recorded on OBS
VLC gives me an error of,
Your input can't be opened, VLC is unable to open, The MRL DVD://D:/. , Check log for details. (Can't find log yet)

I have Win 10 and it will play the OBS recording DVD and I'm using the Mp4 format.

Log file (Last)

I'm sure I have something set wrong, but it looks ok. ??
TIA

Al

You probably didn't burn a video DVD but instead just copied the *.mp4 files from OBS to the DVD. So it is a data DVD and not a video DVD. To open and play files with vlc from a data DVD, use the "open files" dialog, not the "open media".

A real video DVD has to be prepared and burnt by a video engineering app.

Thanks, I am trying to convert a home movie VHS to DVD and I'm not sure what you mean by "Prepared and burnt by a engineering app" ?
Also should it work if I change the "open media" to "open files" or do I need to do the prepared thing?
My computer skills are a bit lacking...:)

OK, so I have to go to Open Files to play DVD, the other selections won't work?
Is there any way to make the OBS a video file?

Ok, we got through this ok until I burned a DVD.
I then got the error
""Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL ' dvd///D:/,
Check log for details.""

I can play DVD through Win 10 Movies and TV but not through VLC.
It appears VLC does not like the MRL file.
I went though all the troubleshooting I could find on this, and it seems it's mostly through the internet that it has it's problems, I could find almost nothing for playing a MRL file through a DVD with VLC. ?

Giving up on that, I thought I'd find out where the MRL file is coming from and I think it's the DVDFlick program I'm using....maybe.
I use a MP4 format in the OBS Studio and assume it's stays that way??
I can not find out what DVDFlick does or if it's the program that changes the MP4 to MRL how to change it. Anybody??
I am starting with the Golden Video VHS to DVD converter, then editing with OBS, then burning with DVDFlick.

Is there a better or different way.
TIA
