Question / Help VLC video source not finding directory contents

Hi all, hoping someone can help.
I have a replay function setup with a VLC video source pointing at the directory the replays are going to. Problem is it's not picking up any new files in the directory unless I open the source and click ok, then it seems to refresh the contents of the directory and starts playing them.
I have the latest VLC and OBS installed, any help would be great as I've now got everything working as I want except the replay directories :(

Thanks

I'm using OBS 21.1.2 and VLC 2.2.8 without problems.

I can add multiple files/directories, and I can add hotkeys to pause/next/previous etc.

All I know is, when I updated VLC it all stopped working and I rolled back immediately - no idea why it doesn't work for you

Rolled back to 2.2.8 and it's the same for me :(
If it only it would pick up new content in directories this build would be 100% done

I think I have misunderstood your problem. I was not adding new files to a directory in my case.

However, I think I might have a rough workaround for you (it depends on how many files you intend to use). Using 'add PATH/URL' to a specific filename allowed me to playback a file that did not initially exist before the scene became active.

Thanks I'll have a look into that, at the most it's 10-15 files per directory. At the moment the source path is c:\replays\current, I'll have a play and see what I need to add and fingers crossed it works :)
