I'm a bit confused...if I'm streaming a large list of videos do I create a playlist on run VLC in the background or just use VLC as the source and link to folder that contains all the video files.

2) I's assuming the default order that they are played is by name but what if I want to be able to manually skip ahead to another video. Is this possible?

If you don't have VLC in your source list then d/l it here: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Click on the ARROW on the download VLC and select the 64 bit installer..
Make sure it's the 64bit version. Only that version will show in your source list.
Then VLC will show in your source list in OBS

When you add VLC from your source list in OBS you add videos by browsing to the folder where they are and add them.

You MUST have VLC as a source in your source list...

Can you assist with the second question? Is it possible to manually skip to another video or do they have to play in order?

As far as I know it doesn't have that option...It's play them all or randomly play them..
Just install it and try it..
