Virtual camera now dropping frames

As of last week, the virtual camera output started outputting about 5-6 fps, making the video appear very choppy. It looks fine in OBS, and records fine to a file. When I use it as a virtual camera the output is laggy. This is a new issue, I've been using it for years on the same workstation with no issues. I have tried:

changing codec
reducing bitrate
adjusting output resolution

Does anyone have any advice? It's basically unusable at the moment.

I am using an algato capture PCI card on windows 10.

Thank you for asking this question. I am having the same issues. The virtual camera has recently caused problems for my live streams, and I have made several adjustments in the settings in an attempt to solve the issue with no success.
