Hi
So normally i can find a solution even if it involves a hammer but this has me stumped, i have checked many thread here and reddit but no solution to the issue i face.
So im only doing basic stuff nothing complex, and started by setting up OBS (latest as of date of this post) on OSX on my Intel MBP.
When i start OBS Virtual Camera it works perfectly in Edge & Chrome. One site i use has a drop down box to select Camera and all is good. The other site does not have a cam selector however Virtual Camera is set as default camera in Edge & Chrome settings and this also works fine no issues at all
However there are many things missing from the OSX version of OBS in relation to Camera tweaks (including no hardware acceleration for encoding etc)
So i thought i would test Windows out and overall the whole experience was a lot better (Hardware acceleration /enconding etc), but as with all things nothing ever seems to work 100%
If i visit the Same first site in Chrome (and Edge) i get the same selector tool and can select OBS Virtual Camera and everything works fine.
If i visit the 2nd site in Edge & Chrome which has NO camera selector tool, it fails to work and throws an error that the camera is blocked. (again the default is set to OBS Virtual Camera)
Test:
I use 2 cameras in OBS a microsoft lifecam and a Logitech StreamCam. If i disable one of these cameras and go back to site 2, then Chrome will pick the camera i have disabled in OBS, doesen't matter which of the cameras i disable Chrome will pick up and display the one thats disabled. BUT if i re-enable both cams then the 2nd site throws the error
Im not sure where the issue lies as whats confusing the matter is, Site 2 work perfectly on OBS - OSX in both Chrome & Edge, but in Windows 11, the same site in Edge & Chrome just won't link to the OBS Virtual Camera claiming the camera is blocked (is set to allow in both browsers).
So not sure if this is a Chrome for Windows issue, a Windows 11 issue or an OBS issue or a mix of them all. I know the 2nd site must be fine as it works in OSX without issue (just missing the obs features which is a downer)
I also tried the plugin version but the same result, no OBS cam in Chrome & Edge for site 2.
