I am using an HP elitebook 2570p and newest version of OBS. Until the update there was never a problem with OBS using my camera.
· There was a problem before in older versions where it would just put the red dot in the upper right corner but I figured out why it did that because of it running in other programs or multiple scenes so that is not the case here because I checked that off the list of errors.
· I have un-installed my driver and updated it, not this issue, marked off list.
I can use Zoom, Discord, even a web page webcamtoy.com and the camera works fine
Now this is why I think it's this virtual cam stuff.
While the driver was uninstalled I went to webcamtoy.com and started the camera and the OBS virtual Cam screen was there ?!?!?!
After re-installing the HP Camera driver, In the camera properties I switched to virtual cam and started it, it shows the virtual cam screen then it shrinks down to a black camera area. When I turn that off and mess around with the settings making it custom and assigning the camera size and FPS and changing it to YUY or whatever and start clicking activate/deactivate and just click between start virtual cam and back to HP webcam [fixed] eventually the camera pops up.
And this really gets me because once it works eventually it will freeze up and if I do get it working and think, "phew I got it" as a test I exited OBS and went back in and all of this happens all over again.
This is very frustrating because maybe I am unknowledgeable about all the new things OBS has updated and all this virtual cam stuff but I would like to stream again and cannot because my content requires Camera.
