I need to keep track of the remaining time of a video clip inserted in a scene.

Is there a plugin or component that allows me to do this?

Meanwhile there is the possibility of trying it.

If you know how to compile obs yourself and add that pull request then you can try it. And it will not be a plugin but rather a native function.

Yes, it's available source toolbar when the source is selected.
Additionally there is a plugin that gives you a dock for it: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/media-controls.1032/
