Question / Help Videos not working?

Hello, Whenever I use Obs everything runs smoothly and such but when I'm finished recording the video and all I get a strange error when trying to open my video. It says and I quoted "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." I know this might not have anything to do with the software but if you could help me it'd be much appreciated.

Thank You.

I would recommend free VLC Player for any kind of video. I believe that Windows media player does not read x264 (mp4) files properly. Someone correct me.

Yep, WMP has poor codec support.
But if you didn't let the recording finalize or the recording crashed for any reason, and you were recording to MP4, it's corrupted and can't be repaired.
