Hi guys i am new to this forum so go easy on me haha.
Basically i just got myself an Elgato HD60s. I was using the program that comes with it but came across OBS and i really liked it.
When I seem to record the frames skip slightly, and when i live stream its terrible! its not even 1080p quality.
Bare in mind i am using a laptop the spec is:
Accer swift 3
Intel i5 8250u 1.6GHz 1.8 GHz
8 GB ram
Intel UHD graphics 420
3.0 USB ports

My internet is saying i am getting 23mb Download speed and 3.79 upload.
Where is my problem the laptop or internet?
When i do try and stream at 1080p 60fps it does struggle but when i lower it to 30 on OBS it isnt as bad

Welcome to the forum!

I would like the start with asking if you could please go to this page on this forum and follow the instructions for posting a log.

Are you having the issue while you stream as well as when you record? It looks like you are using your CPU for encoding the stream and Quicksync (The integrated graphic) for the encoder when recording.

Hi mate, thank you for the reply :)

Yeah mate but when recording it is not that bad and its alot clearer.
This is my log https://obsproject.com/logs/HH298DUZYQPFnCQo
OK so if that is the problem how do i overcome this issue?

Thank you,
Luke

I looked through the log. So a few things to note are that you have the Elgato cature card set up for a 48000hz sample rate but obs at 44100hz. Making those the same is important. But this is an unrelated issue. Another thing is you changed settings a lot in that log. It is best to do one, 5 minute stream and post that log. Close Obs. Open Obs. Then do one, 5 minute record and post that one seperately. Then compare those two settings to eachother. A link to both recordings so I can compare would help as well.

But I can see in the log that when you are recording, you are using quicksync (igpu) to encode 1080p30 @40000kbps (at the start). That is a super high quality setting compared to the 1300kbps very fast x264 used for streaming midway through the log. 1300 is WAY too low for 1080p. That is more of a 480p area. Your upload speed is a little less than 4mbps. So I would suggest setting your stream to downsample to 720p 30fps and then making your stream bitrate 2500. But it also depends on the game you are playing. A fast paced shooter will looks muddy and washed out at those settings. A game like Hearthstone or Shovel knight would look great though.

You can disable game dvr in Windows 10. Link below for guide.

Is there a reason you are running more than one instance of obs?

You've got at least two copies of OBS running. That won't help.

22:48:26.596: Windows Version: 10.0 Build 17134 (revision: 829; 64-bit)

Windows is out of date and has a broken feature that can reduce OBS performance. You should update.

22:48:26.643: Loading up D3D11 on adapter Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 (0)

Integrated GPUs aren't great for streaming. You've chosen the right encoder for it, but there are limitations.

22:55:23.377: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 75/1029 (7.3%)

You're overloading your encoder. You may wish to reduce your canvas resolution.
