Videos come out as grey messes

recently i started recording for a challenge between me and friends where we record and twitch stream. I've used obs before and had 0 problems. streaming comes out fine. the video looks to going well on obs. but when i finally get it to end recording and grab the footage, its turned into a grey mess. I dont exactly know how to google this and have it make sense. so the best bet is to come here.
