Hello fellow OBS enthusiasts

So I have a question to you guys. I’ve been fairly new with using OBS as my streaming tool, but now I’ve come to some problems which need to be solved.

So, I am using a curved LG Screen (2560 x 1080) with Windows 10.

When I have all my streaming requirements set up and want to start streaming my videogame, I have the problem, that in fullscreen recording mode, my game only gets recorded halfway. (You can only see like, half of the game, the rest is black/cut off)

I already tried different recording presets, only fullscreen recordings etc aswell.
Could anyone recommend me a solution or has had the same issue aswell?

Thank you already for your answers and please excuse my maybe a bit flawed english.

Greetings
Sel

If you record fullscreen, this is 2560x1080 or aspect ratio 21:9. All streaming players are aspect ratio 16:9 players, that means not so wide. To fit your very wide 21:9 video to aspect ratio 16:9, black bars are added to the top and to the bottom. If you want to stream, you need to send aspect ratio 16:9 video, and that means OBS needs to capture a game with this aspect ratio. In your case, this is 1920x1080. Play your game in 1920x1080 while you stream. As long as you are streaming, you cannot benefit from your nice wide screen. This is no limit of OBS, this is the nature of aspect ratio.

By the way, it makes no sense in trying to create aspect ratio 21:9 material for public consumption, because the vast majority of your audience has 16:9 monitors with 1920x1080 (Full HD, 64% of all users) or 1366x768.(many cheaper laptops, 10% of all users) alone, according to the Steam Hardware Survey: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam
