Hi can anybody help I’ve got OBS STUDIO installed on my pc which as windows 11, my problem is I am trying to capture video from old video tapes to download to my pc, I’ve been able to get decent video but no audio so when I record no sound is recorded, I’ve tried everything but nothing seems to work, anybody know the answer ? Tried settings for sound on pc also tried settings on OBS studio but nothing, it’s probably something simple ? Thanks

You did plug it in, right? "Old video tapes" probably implies that you need separate video and audio cords, even if both ends go to the same boxes. Combined A and V on the same cord didn't become popular until HDMI, by which time we weren't using tapes anymore.

I am having the same issue -- no audio, and yes, the Red/White audio and Yellow video cables are plugged in.
Also, in the Sources settings, if the Audio Output Mode is set to anything other than "Capture audio only" the video disappears.

This is the type of thing where you need to provide a log file and additional information such as the converter and if audio works with the software that came with the device or other software. You can always use a composite to HDMI converter connected to a HDMI capture device.

Ok I got the audio working. Uninstalled OBS completely, then reinstalled. On opening OBS, cancelled the auto set-up. Set-up video and audio manually. In Video Capture settings, set Audio Output mode to WaveOut; Audio Device USB 3.0 Capture. Then on the lower right-side of the main window, selected Settings, Audio. Set Mic/Aux Audio to USB 3.0 capture. Selected OK to close. Exited the OBS app, then restarted. After that the audio worked.
