Question / Help Video Setting defaults to 4096x1200 even if I choose monitor

I want to perform resolution downscale. I currently use a resolution of 5760x1200. When I choose monitor for base resolution, the downscales are not at the correct aspect ratio and I lose 1/3 of my screen. Everytime I choose Custom and enter in 5760x1200, it defaults to 4096x1200.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I believe x264 is limited to 4096 in any direction.

Use a lower resolution as your base resolution, eg 3456 x 720 then downscale from there.

I play World of Tanks @ 5760x1200. I got it to work with the free version of XSplit with no issues.

Have you tried with dxtory + OBS? Dxtory has a DirectShow output mode so you could in theory get games at 5760x1200 to OBS with that but i have never tried so not sure.

Krazy is correct, h264 video is limited to a maximum of 4096 in any direction. The largest resolution you can use with the correct aspect ratio is 4096x853. You should then be able to fit your capture into that.
