Question / Help Video record output only half the screen

I'm new to OBS. I'm trying to avoid buying a second monitor. My monitor is 1920 x 1080. For my presentations, I want the video output file to only show half my screen (960 x 1080) instead of the whole 1920 x 1080. I am able to do capture and record half the screen which is a power point presentation that is annotated. However, when I view the recorded video afterwards, it shows the whole 1920 x 1080 where the left half is black and right half has my presentation. I only want the video out to show the left side. Is there a way to do that without buying a second monitor?

I set the screen to capture half (the right half - 960 x 1080)...which it did but the other half was black. There is no way to "custom" the output scaled resolution, but only factors that maintain the ratio to my monitor size... I would think this is possible so I just must be missing something rather simple

to be clear... the mp4 output video showed the left half of the screen black and the right half is what was captured... I would like the output file to show only the right half of the screen

you are right... you can. Didn't try that. I set both the base and the output to 960x1080 and it did output just what I wanted to capture. Thanks. Now I just need to figure out why my annotating my presentation shows on my monitor but does not show up in the recording.

o.k. just had to move my presentation to the left side of my monitor and not the right side... Thanks to Suslik and Simes... both of you
