Question / Help Video plays still frames in most players, can't edit in kdenlive

The mkv video I recorded in this session only plays still frames sporadically along with the proper audio in VLC and Kdenlive. In Windows Media player it plays fine. I also can't get Kdenlive to seek through the video, which makes editing near impossible.

While this could be a kdenlive issue. I figured I'd start with the source of the videos since it also doesn't play right in VLC either.

It looks like it drops a few frame here and there, but not enough to make an hour or so worth of video only have 2-3 frames by any means.

Nothing immediately stands out from the logs. I would lower your keyframe interval to 1 second and see if that has any effect on playback ability.

If that doesn't fix things, then try remixing in OBS (File -> Remux), and see if that somehow fixes the playback issue.


As a side note, I'm honestly amazed that your CPU is able to encode 1080p60 on veryfast with minimal issue.
