Bug Report Video output seems extremely laggy.

So I recently tried recording a Roblox video with my friend while he was talking to me via discord voice chat. On the OBS preview while I was recording it looked fine, and the game wasn't lagging at all. But when I stopped recording it looked like the game was lagging to the point where a SINGLE frame would go by about every FIVE SECONDS. Someone please explain how to fix this.

cause you are using your cpu for both recording and streaming, use x264 (cpu) to stream and NVENC (gpu) to record to divide the load. even if you are not lagging obs could very well be.

I don't see an option to change x264 to NVENC in the recording section of the "output" settings tab. It only allows me to change it for the streaming section.

First change Recording Quality from "Same as stream" to "Indistinguishable quality". After doing this a new drop down box to select an encoder will appear.

The log showed a massive encoding lag (CPU overload) and even 25% lagged frames due to GPU overload (rendering).
It seems the Intel onboard GPU is set as his main GPU in OBS, so even if the CPU overload gets fixed by encoding via NVENC on the GTX1050, the problem might still be there.
It's also possible, that the rendering got worse, because the CPU limit is now gone and the GPU can run into a hard bottleneck.
I also recommend to clean up you scene.
8x game_capture source is not necessary, you can use one for all and you even got monitor_capture in the same scene.

when I switch to the NVIDIA Graphics Card the entire recording space just goes black.

No matter if it's for a stream or video, the log shows still a ton of encoding lag, because the CPU can't handle the encoding.
Use NVENC, use only game_capture and not an additional monitor_capture on top of that and disable Windows 10 Game DVR.

CHAT BOX LAG PROBLEM OBS, MY CHAT BOX IS LAGGY OBS
I don't know who needs help with this but if your chat seems laggy in OBS, like low frame rate and stuff, you need to go into the properties of the chat browser scene and press custom frame rate, and make it at least 60. It auto was at 30 frames for me for some reason.

Hope this helps,
