Question / Help Video Only Captures OBS

Newbie here. Tried to do a search and went through many guides for settings about monitor capturing, but this is what I always get... Any help would be appreciated....

What's weird about that? You are capturing the monitor OBS is on.

Well the video that I am playing on chrome on the other tab doesn't get recorded except for the sound. If I preview, I thought it is suppose to show up in the preview pane. I am very bad at using any type of software. I tried 3 other types and I just can't seem to get them to work either. Is there a better guide for OBS that anybody knows of on you tube or else ware that is made for people that aren’t good with computers?


Also, please note that I tabbed over to the video on chrome and after about a minute of reordering, I than stopped reordering than tried to play my file and I noticed that it only records about 1 sec and repeats. Just like in my initial picture that I posted!


Any help?
