[video] OBS causes video card, then computer to crash

So you're using the spectralizer plugin? Just remove it.
i have the same problem and i dont have any plugins installed
OBS crashes the GPU when its on HW render
my GPU is AMD RX580 8GB
its a software problem
my driver is the latest driver
its be nice if OBS look for the problem

after i click on start streaming button its completely breaks OBS and OBS will be non functional
its ok on SW mod but on HW mod this is what i get
using latest driver and latest obs which is OBS 29.1 beta 4

i even closed everything running and completely disabled kaspersky antivirus + the windows defender is disabled
and my windows installation is fresh
every driver is installed
all microsoft visual C++ packs and stuff are installed
BTW this the log file after closing every thing and noting running even firefox and msi afterburner , only OBS running alone

Use simple output mode. To make it work correctly run the Auto-configuration Wizard and apply the settings it gives. Restart OBS and then test it as is.
Unless you're recording several audio tracks for editing later then stay always on simple output mode.

And you probably need to update the GPU driver.

gpu driver is the latest and i DDU before installing it and latest chipset driver

its the same on simple mode

from what i researched on the internet its a communication problem between OBS and AMD driver ands its because something changed in AMD driver API but OBS code didn't changed accordingly

finally fixed with OBS 29.1.3
and AMD 23.4.2
note that i put the rate control on VBR because i heard its most compatible with AMD GPUs

VBR is not the "most compatible" and is not the best for recording or streaming.
use CBR for streaming and CQP for recording.
