Question / Help Video not working in editing software

So once I record a video with OBS, It is not letting me import it into any sort of editing software, I've tried, Sony Vegas, Windows Movie maker, and the Roxio editing programs. It will import audio, but no video. But when i play it back with Final Media Player, or Windows Movie Player, it works fine, video and all. I even uploaded it to youtube and it has both. Just going from OBS to an editing program doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

CFR should be active in the advanced settings of OBS, but in some cases you might need an more up to date codec pack that lets Sony Vegas read the mp4 video tracks correctly. I personally use the K-Lite Codec pack but the CCC codec pack should also work in most cases.

I've been running into a similar problem where Windows movie maker won't read the OBS recording. CFR is active.

I just recorded a using OBS and went to edit in movie maker and the file didn't show up. Then i manually opened the file with movie maker and it said the file was not readable.

zombie_hotdog, did you try what Jack0r suggested regarding the use of something like K-Lite? It sounds like you're missing some required codecs on your system.
