OBS newbie (v. 0.16.2) here trying to set up Mac (OSX 10.9.5) with NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB
desktop to stream via Youtube.

Got all the audio working perfectly but Im having no luck with screen capturing. In OBS, I see the screen capture just fine:

But when I click start recording I get a black screen, audio records but no video.

I when I try to youtube stream, I get a black screen, the message "We are not receiving data from your encoder." inside control room.

I have inputed the youtube stream key into OBS and tried a couple of different keys.

I'm sure I must be missing something setting wise but I can't figure it out so any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I have no hair left to pull out.

Thanks

The NVIdia GeForce GT 120 doesn't support OpenGL 3.2 (only OpenGL 3.0) which OBS requires. Also The GT 120 isn't fully supported under MacOS 10.8 or later. Best to upgrade to a newer/more powerful GPU. If you look in the forums, You'll see anotehr post of mine where I have listed a bunch of Youtube videos on how to upgrade and what GPUs are supported.

Ahh thanks that makes sense. I just need a decent card to stream a skype podcast, no gaming.

I have a Radeon HD4870 sitting in an dekstop PC which I don't use. Would this work? If not could you suggest a few options? My Mac Pro is 2009 2.66 Quad Core Intel Xeon, 16GB or Ram

Could you be so kind as to link me to your youtube page or to the page which shows me which cards will work as I need to get this video card situation sorted asap.

Thanks

4 years later I decided to try to find a new video card. Any suggestions about an up to date card I can use on my Mac Pro 2009 to use OBS?
