Video Lagging during Live Streaming

I'm using OBS to live stream a church service and we connected a "Monoprice PTZ USB camera" to OBS and the was lagging during the live stream. We tried setting the FPS at 24fps and then at 30fps and both settings showed the same result.

What advice they you can give me to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated

What lag do you mean?
- live action to what you see on screen?
- or lag from time your stream to being visible to folks watching live stream? [speed of light is too slow, as such this lag is expected]

First are you connecting through wifi or ethernet. Wifi will cause this issue. Connect directly to the ethernet and the lag and freezing will stop.

Do yourself a favor and don't use the term lag to describe jitter in a stream.
- Lag refers to delay
- Jitter is the common technical term referring to unevenness (be that in bitrate, lag, throughput, etc)

Cyclemat nicely posted the article on the log I meant to mention (my typo made it unclear)

However, as a quick starting point, try recording, not streaming. If that is choppy, then your PC isn't up to the task (hardware or possibly software state including OS), or your OBS settings are wrong. If you can record fine, and stream fails, then Internet uplink first place to research. But you indicated Preview was choppy, so most likely you are asking more of your computer than it can do

Realize Video encoding for rendering/streaming can be very demanding on a computer.
