New to OBS and can't figure this out. I have a an MP4 video that I want to stream. But as soon as I start OBS the video starts playing. When I cut to video it is already in progress. I don't find a way to have it start from beginning when I cut to live program. What am I doing wrong? This makes it almost useless for me if I can't cut to video at the start. Should it restart from beginning when I go to live program?

OBS does not have in-app media play/pause control yet.
If media is set to restart when visible, then when you select a scene with the media in it, and the media is not hidden, it will immediately begin playing.
If you want to control that playback, you either need another scene that does not contain that media, so that playback only starts when you want, and you switch to the scene with that media in it to start playback; this can be done either in studio mode or the default hot switch mode;
you can capture an external player through window capture;
you can use the VLC source and control playback in VLC;

In your scene, the eyeball icon can be used to hide/show sources, including media sources.
If you right click a media source and examine its properties, you can have media set to:
Restart playback when source becomes active
This means that when you hide/show the source, it starts playback from the beginning.

I've tried that. My media source still starts automatically when I open OBS, even with putting a blank scene first in the list. The crazy thing is that it never use to do this before. I'm not sure what version is started doing this. It doesn't allow me to stop and restart the media from the beginning.
