Question / Help Video getting split into a bunch of 5-second parts

So, basically, here is the problem I'm having.

I record a video using OBS, and then when I go to check the video I see it was split into a whole bunch of 5-second video clips. In addition, this cuts out a lot of the audio that I recorded.

The strange part is, when I record without saying anything it seems to work fine. Looking at the log file it seems to start and stop recording automatically (I'm not doing that) which I don't know how to fix...

Sorry if this is a really obvious problem; I'm new to OBS but I can't seem to figure out how to fix this and I can't record with this problem since most of the video gets cut out.

Are you using any hotkeys?

Yes, I am using ctrl+shift+r to start recording and ctrl+shift+s to stop recording.

Try without any hotkeys at all.

Also, saving directly to mp4 is strongly not recommended.

Hello there, i am having the same issue, what is different with mine is i never used any Hotkeys. I have tried all my best but still it saves the videos in to 2 sec bunch of files.

I had a similar issue -- mine were with 1 second clips. It resolved itself when I turned off the virtual camera before starting to record.
