Question / Help Video freezes (while audio continues), different test results every time

Hey Guys,
This is a problem since a long time on my stream: My video freezes quite frequently (~10-20 seconds) for a second or two while audio continues in the background. My internet speed is a hundred down and 6.5 up which I'm getting pretty fine (different tests done, average was 99MBit DL and 5,5MBit upload). By using the Twitch Bandwidth Test, I came across weird result variables. When I tested it back in the days when I set up the stream, I had execellent results, 10KBp's+ and above 90 quality on almost every EU server. I did five runs by using 64K TCP window size (as that is the window size that is hardcoded in OBS studio if it even still is, I don't know, my source is R1CH, the developer of the Twitch Bandwidth Test Tool) in a row, here are the results (Quality only, RTT was fine with never going above 50ms and bandwidth never going below 2000kbps, most of the servers like Frankfurt and Amsterdam had good results by around 20ms RTT and around 5000kbps bandwidth):

Amsterdam: 74, 0, 80, 71, 0 - Average: 45
Frankfurt: 65, 51, 76, 78, 34 - Average: 60,8
London: 77, 30, 52, 60, 68 - Average: 57,4
Paris: 35, 64, 0, 6, 76 - Average: 36,2
Prague: 0, 74, 0, 68, 40 - Average: 36,4
Stockholm: 0, 41, 74, 64, 77 - Average: 51,2
Warsaw: 0, , 79, 77, 72, 67 - Average: 59

Here a logfile of my latest stream two hours ago.

Closest server to me is Frankfurt, EU which I've been using ever since. This wasn't a problem since day one. It accured randomly some weeks ago and has been there since then - once more, once less. I guess it's a problem with my ISP so a mail is already sent out there but maybe someone can help here and hopefully, we're able to help other users in the future with this thread as well. My twitch is ceeazy, feel free to look up my VOD's over there.

Wish everyone a great evening!

16:30:22.455: [x264 encoder: 'streaming_h264'] custom settings: opencl=true

delete 'opencl=true' from your x264 settings

also you are dropping some frames due to your internet connection:
17:45:33.865: Output 'adv_stream': Number of dropped frames due to insufficient bandwidth/connection stalls: 2579 (1.9%)

If you are still getting this problem after this, it is probably because you are getting memory leaks.

I removed opencl=true already, no idea why it's still in the log (I only had it in a test recording on).

Hi, sorry for the late answer. I'm in contact with my ISP already. Could it still be something else though?
When I'm using the Twitch Bandwidth Test, I often get Quality: 0 with many many servers. I just ran a spontaneous test, and everything seems to be fine right now, I'm gonna check if there are still lags in my stream later and gonna post the "news" here!

I'm currently almost always getting 25 memory leaks in one stream that lasts 8-10 hours - is that a lot? And what is the soloution - buy more RAM? (currently using 8 gigs of it)

I'm always seeing that the lag happens when my bitrate drops in OBS (most of the time to 0kbit/s) though.

Memory leaks are happening to many people but generally they don't do anything. Unless you are running out of ram buying more won't do anything.

With quality like that on the twitch bandwidth test, that just further proves it is your connection. At times of day when more people are on is probably when your connection gets worse since your ISP can't keep up.

I realized I forgot to send you this link before definitely try these things some may help: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/dropped-frames-disconnecting-lag-read-this-first.8870/

Also OBS released a new update two days ago make sure you are using it.
