Video Encoders: Mac

I am currently using a 2017 iMac with an Intel Core i5. I am looking to both record and stream from my computer at 1080p at 30fps, preferably 60fps. Which video encoder on Mac should I use? I have had issues with my computer, specifically it slows down tremendously when I am recording or streaming.

For an i5 Intel Mac I would say x264 @ 1080p at 30fps, 720p would be ideal. You can do a test stream then view and record it for quality. That would also help you monitor the PC processor usage.
What is the speed of your i5?
