Question / Help Video dropping frames when just recording

I'm only trying to record, not stream, and my videos are dropping frames. When I installed OBS, I let it auto-detect the best settings for me, which are pretty low. I've changed a couple to match some of the suggestions I've found in these forums, but they're still dropping frames. Here are screenshots of some of my settings. (If I need to post more info, please let me know.)
OBS 23.2.1 (64-bit, windows) - Profile_ Untitled - Scenes_ Untitled 7_18_2019 4_40_20 PM.pngOBS 23.2.1 (64-bit, windows) - Profile_ Untitled - Scenes_ Untitled 7_18_2019 4_40_08 PM.png
I have read not to record to mp4, but that's the only format in which I can go back and watch my recordings. If anyone knows of a program/app for Win10 that is free that will play the flv format (or any of the others that would be better), please let me know.

TIA!

(BTW, I don't have a log file to post because there was no actual problem with OBS itself, as far as I can tell. No crashes, stuttering, or anything else while recording, only issues with the video.)

We need the log file to analyze and determine what kind of hardware and settings you are using. For all we know, you are running this on very weak CPU and GPU.

Indistinguishable quality setup is fine, mkv is preferred. mp4 is ok as is flv.
You can use VLC Player to play.

15:45:23.301: Windows Version: 10.0 Build 17134 (revision: 829; 64-bit)

Windows is out of date. This version has a broken feature that negatively impacts OBS performance. There have been two revisions since this one from early 2018. However I am not certain this will address your issue given the specifications of the machine.

15:45:23.300: CPU Name: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2127U @ 1.90GHz

15:45:31.059: Adapter 0: Intel(R) HD Graphics
15:45:31.059: Dedicated VRAM: 33554432
15:45:31.060: Shared VRAM: 1845493760
15:45:31.060: output 0: pos={0, 0}, size={1366, 768}, attached=true
15:45:31.065: Loading up D3D11 on adapter Intel(R) HD Graphics (0)
15:45:31.072: D3D11 loaded successfully, feature level used: 45056

This machine seems to be well below the minimum requirements for OBS.

16:03:25.650: Output 'simple_file_output': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 2352 (52.7%)

Rendering lag caused by GPU overload.

16:03:31.317: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 1900/2029 (93.6%)

Missed frames due to CPU overload.

Drop your base resolution, perhaps even framerate, make sure Minecraft is using bare minimum graphical fidelity for this machine to have any chance of playing a game and also recording.

Do not record to mp4 directly. Record to mkv and use the Remux option from the File menu to convert to m p4 afterwards.

VLC (videolan.org) can play back mkv files.

Thank you for the suggestions! I've tried a few of them, and so far haven't had much luck. I'm just not sure if I will be able to record Minecraft. I did have it working long ago, but that was before my computer derped on me and gave me looping BSOD, so I had to completely reset it and lost all of my programs, including OBS, which meant I lost the settings which were working. :( I'll keep researching the links you gave me and trying different things, though. I appreciate your help!
