Bug Report Video device selection in .50b

When I first run OBS under settings/video it will show my laptops intel chipset, and nvidia one.

Then if I hit preview stream and stop the preview, when I go back to the settings/video it lists my nvidia device twice and also "Microsoft Basic Render Driver".

So when I first run it I only see the two things (intel, nvidia).

Doesn't matter if I stream, record local, or just preview. When I go back to settings/video, it is always two nvidia listings, and the basic render thing.

The preview can be as simple as just previewing a scene with a bitmap image in it.

Minor issue, but figured I would mention it.

This is actually normal for some laptops, this isn't a bug. There's literally two adapters selectable.

I know I have two adapters. One is Intel, one is Nvidia. So I understand why they both show. But maybe my post wasn't clear.

First time I run OBS it shows....

Intel HD Graphics 4000
Nvidia Geforce GTX 680M

It shows those two in the drop down for the video adapters I can choose from. The above options make perfect sense as my two to pick between.

However, If I start a stream, do a preview, the next time I click on that drop down for video adapter slection it says.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 680M
Nvidia Geforce GTX 680M
Microsoft Basic Render Driver

The Intel is no longer in the drop down, Nividia is in there twice, and the Microsoft Basic Render selection is now in there when it wasn't before.

If I close OBS and rerun it shows the Intel and Nvidia options again.

Right, because NVIDIA sees OBS is using the GPU and no longer makes the non-GPU chip available.

Ok, just confusing for me I guess.

It works the way I would expect when I right click the OBS shortcut and say to use the intel integrated chipset. When OBS comes up I can select Intel or Nvidia in the video adapter drop down. Even when doing a preview or stream and stopping that, it still only shows Intel and Nvidia entries like it did on initial startup.

I am not trying to change adapters while streaming or anything like that. If my earlier messages seemed to indicate that.

When I right click OBS and have it run with the Nvidia chipset I can select either Intel/Nvidia in the OBS video adapter selection. It is just after doing a stream/stop streaming or preview/stop previewing I see the two Nvidia entries, and that Microsoft entry.

I just expected that when not streaming or previewing, I should be able to select between either of the two adapters. Plus that third adapter showing up confused me.

I will just close OBS and relaunch it when I need to fall back on the Intel chipset after streaming/previewing with the Nvidia adapter chosen.

Here is a pic to illustrate. This is OBS setting/video after initial launch of OBS.

Here it is after hitting preview and then stopping the preview.
