Video Capture...escaped!

When I add my webcam to a scene, I get one red dot in the upper left hand corner of the frame, and there's no way to actually add the video device unless I restart my PC. As well, for no reason, I lose the video capture on all scenes...not fun three minutes before a webcast. Any solutions out there?

You configured your webcam twice: one in the "News cam" scene and another one in the "Video test" scene. They stomp on each other, because one webcam device can only be opened once. So remove one source.

If you need to show your webcam in multiple scenes, add additional instances of the webcam with the "add existing" option. This way, only a reference is created, not a full duplicate source. You identify instances to the same source by name: all instances to the same source have the same name.

Try it and see yourself. If the source in the duplicated scene has exactly the same name as the original source, you don't have a conflict. As far as I remember, OBS will create references and not copies, so no conflicts.
