Video capture device

Hey I have a problem, I want to connect my Nintendo Switch to OBS and when I connect the console with the USB, I can only set a maximum of 30 FPS, which I have to admit, interferes with gaming. Does anyone know what it depends on, when I can set 60 FPS and when 30 FPS?

Check the specifications of your capture device what resolution+fps combinations are supported. It seems the capture device you're using doesn't support 60 fps.

USB: 2.0
Max input resolution: 4K 3840x2160 30Hz
Maximum output resolution: 1920x1080 30Hz
Do you happen to know how to interpret them?

Hz (pronounced "Hertz") is the analog equivalent to fps, so 60 fps isn't supported with your device, only 30. 4k is probably a marketing lie, because USB 2.0 just doesn't have the bandwidth to actually support 4k resolution. It's 4k, because you can upscale the image to 4k with a postprocessing tool. I once bought a cheap webcam advertised as 1920x1080, that physically was only 640x480. In the fine print, it stated that 1920x1080 comes with "digital upscaling". Marketing writes everything to make you buy.

@koala you are wrong it can input 4K 3840x2160 30Hz but its downscale it to 1920x1080 30Hz to trasport it over USB 2.0
only USB 3.0 and up has the bandwitch to trasport 4K 3840x2160 30Hz. and when you show the capture device i mean it has a pathtrough so it can transport 4k30 over the pathtrough port but only capture the 1080p Picture.

so the caputre card can only use at 1080p 30fps in obs

i have many of this China capture cards here to test it!
