Question / Help Video Capture Device wont update resolution

I use a AverMedia LGP Lite with the stream engine software, the problem is that when I go from my normal resolution(1920x1080) to a game with like 800x600 it shows nothing(black screen), but if i restart OBS and start the preview again it works.

AverMedia's capture program works without any problems at all but then I'll need two monitors two stream that program with OBS because either window capture or game capture will hook Avers software.

Make sure to close the avermedia software first and any game or window capture sources, then make a new source for a video capture device then point select LGP game from the dropdown (I think). There will be two, select one of them will work, one of them wont.
the main problem with the Avermedia devices is they dont dynamically change when a game changes resolution, or I could be wrong. you might have to toggle between scenes for it to change.

In picture 1 you can see that both obs and aver's software is set to 1920x1080 and I have a desktop screen in my preview.

In picture 2 i'm in a game that using 800x600 resolution, aver update's it but obs don't and still showing that 1920x1080 resolution. The ONLY way to update it is to restart OBS completely. I tried the custom resolution option but nothing happens.

close RECentral and do the test agian, main menu, then into game. I want to say I've heard of this before from other users but it was just something known. the Avermedia card passes the source resolution of the video where at the elgatos (and other cap cards) use what resolution you set? I cant recall.

I dont have one so I cannot test, feel free to test around and see what you come up with.
