Hi,
I just started using OBS yesterday and it seems to be headed in the right direction. So first I want to say thanks for the product. I cannot get the same quality as Debut yet but I am optimistic and I don't want renew the subscription there.
I am copying video streaming from my display. I usually leave the laptop closed and use a larger monitor with a recommended resolution of 1920x1080. I scaled it down to 960 x 540 using bicubic hoping a 2x reduction in each direction or 4x bit reduction would make the reduction faster. I also lowered the frame rate to 24 and using MKE format. It works fairly well for low motion but it not as good as Debut when the screen is busy. I set the quality to same as stream but that may not be the best choice.
Now getting to the current problem. Since OBS is using graphics card output I decided maybe a smaller monitor would be better as reducing the base on the large monitor did not work well, playback was not full screen or full window. So I added my laptop monitor to sources and selected it.
The main OBS window ad mid screen indicates Display Capture and further right Display 1:1366x768. However, when Settings>Video is selected the base resolution has not choice for 1366x768, it has display2 choices, 1920x1080, etc.
How do I get the display 1 base options to appear?
Will using a display with a smaller max resolution take less processing?
Thanks,
Newbie John
