Question / Help Video (Background) doesnt play

So I, a funny man, wanted to bring a little fun in my classroom and decided to take a background video into the stream. So I set up my Webcam. All perfect. I set a Video for my Background. A local file in .mp4 format. But it doesnt play, just black screen. I already checked Layers if maybe my Facecamfeed is over it but it isnt. Is tere something obvious i forgot?

BTW do you have funny ideas for the background? I currently have the crab Rave and Oval Office. But I am out of Ideas

Are you using Studio Mode? Then the video remains black at the Preview window until you transition it once to Program. At that time a preview pic of the video will be stored in memory, so next time you switch to that scene (bring it to Preview) it will show something. You'll have to do this each time you start OBS Studio (before start of streaming/recording).
Please note that this is only a black preview, on transitioning the black video to Program it will start as expected. But for your own comfort you might do this pre stream step first for all your video scenes.

If this does not solve your problem, please make sure that the mp4 file itself is not corrupted (can be played in any Media Player ish program).
