Question / Help Video/Audio has random stutters/lag/freezes while recording rust but is fine with other games.

Idk what to do about this.. My rust recordings randomly freeze and stutter both with the video and the audio... Also the rust file sizes are massive compared to other games. An hour of rust footage is like 60-70gb while an hour of Rainbow Six footage is only 14-20gb.

How can I fix this?

The log shows no issues. OBS doesn't drop any frame. The video file should be perfect according to the log.
Try a different video player, for example VLC or Media Player Classic. It may be the data rate is too high for the native Windows player.

The huge size can be explained: You're using a quality-based rate control (CRF/CQP). In this mode, every frame is recorded with the same quality, so each frame occupies the disk space it needs for this quality. If your game has high visual complexity, this space requirement can get very high. It may be that Rust has a higher visual complexity than Rainbow six (I don't know any of these games), so Rust gets the larger video files. The more bland the graphics of a game, the smaller the resulting video file size.

The other rate control mode (CBR) is different: you set a given bitrate, and the quality is turned as much down as needed to not exceed the given bitrate. For high motion, where much space is required, the quality has to be turned down very much to be still under the given bitrate. This can be seen as pixelation. For recording, this rate control is inferior to a quality-based rate control.
